G129 Diamond Wire at the Angola Black Granite Quarry
Quarry bench cutting — hard black granite
- Application
- Granite quarry bench cutting and block squaring in Angola Black granite, a hard and abrasive stone that punishes both the bead bond and the wire assembly.
- Challenge
- The quarry needed higher output per shift without accepting wire breakage or the downtime that comes with it. In abrasive granite the usual trade-off is aggressive cutting versus wire life — you rarely get both from a standard bead.
- Material
- Angola Black granite — hard, abrasive
- Equipment
- 55kW wire saw machine, operated on a standard bench cutting layout.
- Diamond Tool
- G129 diamond wire — optimized diamond concentration and distribution, advanced alloy bead bonding, reinforced wire assembly.
- Working Conditions
- Continuous quarry production, bench cutting with block squaring on the same wire.
- Result
- Cutting speed 8–10 m²/hour. Wire lifetime 20–24 m² per meter. Stable cutting with no wire breaks recorded, and measurably reduced downtime.
